• environmental discussions are a regular feature of work with Pathfinders and Sunday Club

Practical:

• PCC has been discussing environmental issues relating to the church and giving priority to an initiative to develop alternative energy sources for the church and church hall - a report was commissioned using grant from Quarry Trust and Conservation Foundation, which recommended insulation.
• church members make suggestions towards positive stewardship
• recycle all possible items; reuse items; table top sales
• low energy bulbs installed
• timing of heating carefully monitored
• windows cleaned regularly (there are many of them).

Reaching out:

• in touch with council officers and other agencies
• local press alerted to the project
• funding of energy survey was reported nationally
• fairtrade products used
• involvement with Present Aid, WaterAid
• support hospital in South west Tanzania providing financial and practical aid regularly
• environmental issues covered in work with local schools.
